Hi! I’m Jen Wick.
I specialize in creating fresh, relevant identity systems and editorial solutions for my clients in the arts, publishing, education, and nonprofit industries from my collaborative studio in NE Portland.
I’ve been excited about design since I was a teenager, when I started cutting and pasting together my own fanzine. I learned volumes while on the production end of the design industry, working in copy shops and printing businesses, which led to many years as Art Director for the Portland Mercury. From there, I spent a couple years as a graduate student and publication designer at Tyler School of Art, and a post as Senior Designer for Sagacity Media / Portland Monthly.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve helped bring countless publications to life, and created, commissioned, and directed just as many illustrations, photo shoots, events and marketing packages. I’ve also had the chance to fine tune my collaborative process, and the opportunity to grow and evolve alongside my clients. Helping them to better understand their own unique vision, by building relationships and approaching every collaboration as a process of discovery. From the ground up, and for the long term. Transforming information into story, and creating real and relatable visual identities together.
I seek out work that’s both fun and meaningful, creative and collaborative, informs and delights. Projects that lead to lasting relationships, and promote growth in my own practice just as well as my clients’.
